1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. Organization accounts also provide company name and website.

Profile information: Business name, address, industry sector, and optional profile details you choose to provide.

Prediction data: Numeric predictions, confidence scores, behavioral responses, and revision history you submit through campaigns.

Usage data: Pages visited, features used, timestamps, and device/browser information collected automatically.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Operate the prediction platform and score campaign outcomes
  • Display aggregated consensus data and leaderboards (your display name and prediction rank are public within campaigns you join)
  • Send transactional emails: prediction confirmations, consensus alerts, follow-up questions, results
  • Improve our platform and develop new features
  • Process payments via Stripe for prizes and subscriptions

We never sell individual prediction data to third parties. Campaign creators see only aggregate statistics (consensus values, participation counts), never individual predictor identities or prediction values before resolution.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that process your data:

  • Supabase — database hosting and authentication
  • Stripe — payment processing (we do not store credit card numbers)
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Anthropic (Claude) — AI-assisted campaign question generation (no personal data is sent to AI models)
  • Vercel — application hosting

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Prediction data is retained indefinitely for scoring accuracy and leaderboard integrity. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data via your profile settings
  • Delete your account and personal data
  • Export your prediction history
  • Opt out of non-essential emails via the unsubscribe link in any email

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Supabase authentication requires cookies to maintain your session.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted database storage, row-level security policies, and secure authentication flows. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext.

8. GDPR (European Users)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

  • Legal basis for processing: We process your data based on (a) your consent when you create an account, (b) contractual necessity to provide the prediction service, and (c) legitimate interest in improving our platform and generating aggregate intelligence
  • Data portability: You can request a machine-readable export of your prediction data
  • Right to erasure: You can request deletion of your personal data. Note that aggregated, anonymized data derived from your predictions may be retained as it cannot be traced back to you
  • Right to object: You can object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Data transfers: Your data is stored on servers in the United States. By using the Platform, you consent to this transfer. We rely on standard contractual clauses for lawful data transfer

9. CCPA (California Users)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act provides you with specific rights:

  • Right to know: You can request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you
  • Right to delete: You can request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions
  • Right to opt out of sale: We do not sell your personal information as defined by the CCPA. We license aggregated, anonymized intelligence products — individual predictor data is never sold
  • Non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights

10. Children

MacroSeer is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes

We may update this policy and will notify registered users by email of material changes at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
